Terminator: Dark Fate: How It Ended, And How The Film Changes The Franchise

Imahe
2 hours ago WARNING: Spoilers for Terminator: Dark Fate are in play. If you haven’t seen the latest film in this time traveling saga, bookmark this story and head back once you’ve taken that journey. Unless you’re a time traveler from the future; in which case you’ve probably read this already. When it was announced that James Cameron would return to the Terminator franchise, both as producer and story contributor, Terminator: Dark Fate was automatically destined to change the course of the franchise’s history. But even with that expectation in mind, there’s no way that fans could have seen what was coming with some of the larger twists and turns that director Tim Miller’s film took in the blockbuster. As promised, Terminator: Dark Fate has shown us a new future that blazes a daunting path for the heroes that hopefully alters the course of Judgement Day once and for all. Let's dig into it - and if you haven’t seen the film, this is your last chance to turn...

Would Terminator: Dark Fate’s Tim Miller Return To Direct A Sequel? Here’s What He Told Us

Imahe
3 hours ago In the making of Terminator: Dark Fate , director Tim Miller took on a rather huge job. Not only did he have the responsibility of trying to rejuvenate the franchise with a new, exciting chapter, but he also took on the responsibility of rewriting the continuity and making a sequel specifically to Terminator 2: Judgement Day . Fortunately it’s a mission that went successfully, as the film is the best in the franchise since 1991 – and apparently Miller is happy to leave on a high note. Whether or not we will actually ultimately get a sequel to Terminator: Dark Fate isn’t something that we know for certain right now, but it’s interesting to note that Tim Miller doesn’t necessarily want the gig should it be offered to him. It was a sentiment he shared with me this past weekend at the Los Angeles press day for the new movie, as I asked him about his potential future with the franchise at the end of my interview with him. Said the filmmaker, Truth be told, it wa...

More Movies Need To Follow Terminator: Dark Fate And Just Ignore Their Sequels

Imahe
3 hours ago The Terminator film franchise had gotten out of control. I think we can all agree on that by this point, right? The first two movies are excellent, but after that we got three films that were disasters of varying degrees. Some of them just had barely anything new to offer, while others at least tried to do things unique and different. If successful, each ensuing sequel could have taken the franchise in a fresh direction. However, they all failed to connect with audiences, leaving to nothing more than a pile of Terminator stories for fans to try to put together into some sort of coherent story. It doesn't really work. With Terminator: Dark Fate , some work is being done to try and clean up the mess. The new movie will take place following Terminator 2: Judgement Day , and it will ignore any sequels that have taken place since that point. No more Rise of the Machines , no more Salvation and no more of whatever the hell Genisys was trying to accomp...

Marvel's Trinh Tran Says The Studio Is Expanding, But Not At The Expense Of Quality

Imahe
4 hours ago It’s been approximately a month since it was announced that Disney and Sony would not only continue working together on Spider-Man, but that Tom Holland’s version of the Web-Slinger will lead a third standalone film, which will come out in 2021. With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings , Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder having already been scheduled for that year, that means there will be four Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to look forward to in two years time. When I recently asked Avengers: Endgame executive producer Trinh Tran, who’s been working on the MCU in one form or another since the beginning, if four movies feels like the most the studio can release per year, she noted that the Spider-Man of it all, as well as the forthcoming Disney+ shows, mean there’s structural expansion, but don’t think that means quality is being sacrificed for quantity. As Tran put it: In other words, just because there will b...

Every James Bond Villain's Motivations: A Quick Recap

Imahe
5 hours ago James Bond movies are memorable, action-packed and full of flash, but it's usually the 007 show. Are there villains? Absolutely, but I typically tend to remember their unique henchmen, cool looks or vast amounts of wealth before the actual plan the whole movie is working towards. Am I alone in this? For those who may be as fuzzy on the motivations of the many Bond villains in the franchise, here's a brief breakdown for each of them. Keep in mind, key henchmen aren't touched on here, and we'll be skipping the movies that weren't produced by Eon Productions, as those generally aren't viewed as canon. Let's get started! Dr. Julius No Dr. No was the film world's first Bond villain, and a confirmed operative of SPECTRE in Dr. No . His big play was to disrupt the Project Mercury space launch using nuclear radio beams. Bond was able to stop the metal-armed villain's nefarious plot, and No ended up boiling to death in a c...

No Star Wars' John Boyega Doesn't Think Rey Is More Powerful Than Anakin Skywalker

Imahe
5 hours ago Some people might think that Rey (Skywalker? Palpatine? Solo? Kenobi? Binks? None of the above?) is a more powerful Jedi than Anakin Skywalker. Those people would be wrong, at least according to John Boyega. One could have assumed that the actor who plays Finn in the Sequel Trilogy would have stumped for his fellow Resistance fighter, but no, Star Wars ’ John Boyega doesn’t think Rey is more powerful than Anakin Skywalker. He made that quite clear on social media. Take a look: John Boyega was responding on Twitter to an article about a Star Wars comic that seemingly showed Rey to be more powerful than both Anakin and Luke Skywalker. It’s an assertion that John Boyega took issue with. As far as he’s concerned, this is real life and that’s just fantasy, and in real life, Anakin Skywalker wipes the floor with Rey. Not only did John Boyega find the notion that Rey is more powerful than Anakin to be inaccurate and specious, he found it completely absurd. The act...

Hobbs And Shaw Writer On #Justice4Han: ‘Just Wait’

Among the more popular characters in the Fast & Furious franchise is Sung Kang’s Han Lue, who was introduced in Tokyo Drift and died in the lead-in to the movie’s third act. Thanks to the franchise winding back the clock, we were treated to three more appearances from Han, and when Han’s death was eventually revisited, viewers learned that it was Deckard Shaw who was driving the car that killed him. With Deckard Shaw having since transitioned from an antagonist to a protagonist, which was most recently on display in the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw , many Fast & Furious fans have demanded Justice For Han (or #Justice4Han, if you prefer), as there still hasn’t been any movement towards Deckard atoning for killing Han. Well, Hobbs & Shaw writer and executive producer Chris Morgan is promising fans that Justice...

See Tom Hiddleston And Charlie Cox Trade Marvel Roles For Halloween

Imahe
7 hours ago Today is Halloween, and if you go out tonight and/or this weekend, you’re likely to see plenty of people dressed up as Marvel heroes. But what if you already play a Marvel character onscreen. Do you just wear your character costume for the holiday? Not if you’re Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox you don’t. The actors, who play Loki and Daredevil, respectively, opted to trick and treat fans with a surprise as they traded Marvel roles for Halloween. Take a look: That's incredible. Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox look to be having a grand time; grinning, laughing and looking considerably less cool than they do onscreen, but just as charming. This Halloween character swap took place outside the stage door of the Broadway play Betrayal that they both star in alongside actress Zawe Ashton. It must have been quite the pleasant surprise for the fans waiting outside to not only see the stars of the play all dressed up for Halloween, but to see the duo nod to their i...

Wow, The Inside Of Spider-Man’s Mask Is Wild

Imahe
8 hours ago It’s not exaggerating to say that Spider-Man is one of the most recognizable superheroes in pop culture, and much of that is because of his cool-looking mask. Those distinctive wide eyes and the web-pattern that extend to his entire costume make for an incredibly unique appearance, but have you ever wondered what the mask looks like on the inside. Well, wonder no longer! Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development, shared this freaky look at the inside of the mask from the Spider-Man: Homecoming suit, i.e. the first suit that Tony Stark designed for Peter Parker, which was introduced in Captain America: Civil War . As he noted in his post, Meinerding came up with this inside-out design for the scene when Peter Parker and his best friend Ned are hacking into the suit. While you couldn’t really see the inside of the Spider-Man mask during the hacking scene, Ryan Meinerding also planned to show this design later during Spider-Man: Homecoming w...

Jamie Lee Curtis Shares Epic Halloween Kills Set Video, And Wow

Imahe
11 minutes ago As far as horror franchises go, there are few quite as beloved as Halloween . John Carpenter's 1978 classic brought the slasher genre to audiences for the first time, while also making Jamie Lee Curtis a household name. The property has never been far from theaters, but recently had an exciting resurgence thanks to Blumhouse's 2018 Halloween sequel. Two more movies are on the way, starting with David Gordon Green's follow-up Halloween Kills . And we've just gotten our first glimpse at that highly anticipated movie, thanks to Curtis herself. Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the world's first Scream Queens, and Halloween Kills will mark her whopping sixth appearance as Laurie Strode. Curtis has always brought a strong performance to Laurie, but Blumhouse's Halloween allowed her to truly delve into the character's psyche and trauma. And to celebrate the holiday the franchise is named after, the 60 year-old actress shared footage from the ...
