Having recently clashed with Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry as Black Manta, Yahweh Abdul-Mateen II is currently in talks to play the new Candyman, according to Variety. Rather than being a straightforward remake of the 1992 Candyman , this new movie, which is being directed by The Little Woods ’ Nia DaCosta and produced by Jordan Peele through his Monkeypaw Productions company, has been described as a “spiritual sequel.” Even with that information, it’s unclear if Abdul-Mateen II, assuming he’s cast, is playing the same Candyman that Tony Todd previously brought to life or a brand-new iteration, but either way, when people say “Candyman” in front of a mirror fives times in this new movie, he’ll be what appears. from CinemaBlend Latest Content https://ift.tt/2H4Dhjn via IFTTT

There will be no fewer than three of them coming that year, including Aladdin and The Lion King both coming as big summer releases. The first entry of the year, however, will be the reinvention of Disney's flying elephant, Dumbo. It feels like something of an unusual choice for a remake, but based on the cast and the crew that is making the new Dumbo a reality, it does seem that the right people are involved to make this one something special. While many of Disney's remakes have been fairly true retellings of the original story, Dumbo is different in that it will be creating a lot of brand new material to complete the tale of the misfit elephant. Written by Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields, the story will center on a scientist named Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga), who studies kaiju for the Monarch agency, and her daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown). They get kidnapped by an organization that has their own special plans for the monsters, but machinations lead to the dangerous creatures being unleashed upon the world.
